With the ingnition turned off, the AC blower contiunes to blow at the maximum speed and is unresponsive to the contol panel. A replacment AC module was suspected after searching the web yet the new part installed allows the same behavior. Looking at the pin to pin resistances on the AC module I do see different values for the new part vs. the old part Any suggestions -I appear to be out $120 from GMPartDirect

Hi vgriffin,

Thank you for the donation.

The blower control module is the most likely culprit and if you had bought a bad part, it is just too bad. Did you get a warranty on the it?

Try unplugging the HVAC blower motor 10 A fuse located in instrument panel fuse box. If blower stops, the problem lies with the HVAC programmer, behind right side of instrument panel.

I've removed the 10A fuse from the fuse box on the driver's door side of the instrument panel and the fan keeps blowing. There is also a 10A fuse for a HVAC relay and that does not affect the fan; I suspect this is for the compressor clutch -could easily be wrong. The comment about the HVAC programmer and the fact is does not stop suggests we are still at the blower control module. Anyway to test this componnent? Is a new replacement still suggested?

Diagnostics are available but too bad vehicle is not equipped with On Board Self diagnostics for the AC control system and you need a Tech 1 scan tester.

If you are able to get the scanner, it would be the best option of testing to get the correct results without a trial and error by replacement of parts.
