Battery Light?

I have a 1995 Buick Regal with very high miles on it, when I accelerate the the little battery icon comes on, when its ideling the icon goes off.
Does anybody have any ideas?
Battery...Altenator....

You should have your alternater checked at autozone they do it for free. they can check the battery too, while its instaled so its alot easier.
