This question is like others that have been asked. I have lost consistent internal lights (reading lights on mirror, dome lights, etc.) but the last that really troubles me is I returned from a 10 day vacation to find the odometer is so dimmed as to be unreadable most of the time. I used the trip odometer yesterday and it works fine, I just can't hardly see it.

I have read on your page that the ignition or turn signal can affect other electrical functions. Any ideas?

Mike Cerjak has written me about my question. I had not joined when I sent in a donation thinking it was necessary for an answer. Thanks.

The lighting is controlled by the BCM (Body Control Module ) as well as the switches that manually control them. Those cars have battery run down protection that will shut down the interior after a designated amount of time, but it wont control brightness of the lights except when the headlights are turned on, then it dims them to keep glare down.If the dash odo lights are dim, it may be the dimmer control, or possibly the BCM, are all of the dash lights doing this? if so it may be the controller, if no the cluster may have its own issue internally.A scan of the BCM for codes would be a good place to start, to see if there are any codes stored

You may have to go to the dealer, unless you can find a shop with a scanner capable of this. Not all will do the BCM, so I suggest calling around
