My buick regal has had an assortment of problems over the years:
1) car was hesitant to accelerate, very sluggish. pulled code, code said O2 sensor or MAP sensor. replaced O2 sensor, that didn't help. Replaced MAP sensor, that didn't help. UNPLUGGED MAP sensor, after 30 seconds car would run just fine. This was 2 years ago, so I've been driving without MAP sensor plugged in for 2 years.
2) recently, the car has died suddenly while driving down the road. I restart it, but it soon dies again. I restart it and immediately rev the engine to 4000+rpm, and then the car drives fine for a couple more days.
Since this problem first occured, I've replaced the fuel filter and spark plugs/wires. Cat. Converter doesn't rattle.
