My wife's Buick Regal has started a humming or roaring noise as you accelerate above 30 mph. It does not make any noise at idle. It is not a grinding like brakes. It doesn't increase when I turn the wheel. It is just constant while driving at speed. Any thoughts?

Same problem with my wife's 2000 Regal. Identical symptoms to yours. Tires checked OK by tire dealer. Local mechanic check everything with car up on rack, says can't pinpoint problem. Not typical symptoms for CV's or drivetrain. I think it is front wheel bearing, so maybe I'll check with another mechanic.
Did it get worse yet? Or did you finally identify problem/fix?

My mom has the same problem.I have a mechanic in the family, he said to drive down the road and pull the wheel back and forth to see if the noise changes in pitch, usually the bad bearing will be on the side the noise gets louder.Still trying to diagnose which one it is.Probably better to replace both at same time though!?

I have the exact same car make a model, and for me it was the bearings on the hub assembly.
