At about 80,000 miles this car started making a squealing noise like the belt slipping. It is worse at idle, and hardly noticable at speed. I thought something was surely going to fail, but I now have 120,000 miles and still the same noise. You can remove the serpentine belt and the noise is still there so it must be something inside the engine. Any ideas?
