1998 Buick Regal water on floor

everytime it rains i have water leak down through heater area.the windshield is sealed good but plastic between wipers and glass at bottom of windshield has lifted due to age.Is there a drain for water in firewall area that could be plugged or does water have to be prevented from going in?

Unfortunately, there's no drain. You'd have to use an RTV silicon to plug up the sealing where it's lifting away. Also check the weather stripping along the top of the doors. Because if water can seep past those seals, it will run along the frame of the door and down to the carpet.
It won't seem as though that's where the water is coming from, but it will.

Also, smell the water that's on your carpet. If it smells sweet, then it could be your heater core is leaking.
