my car is like the speed bus if i idle or slow to below 50 the temp gauge rises if i go fast the gauge cools down the coolaant light is on but i put some in whats going on?

check radiator fans, Are they coming on?? thay should come on around 190 to 212 degrees and then shut off when engine cools down. if not check coolant fan sensor, coolant fan relay or fuses..
