1993 Buick Regal fuel tank removal proceduire

fuel tank has a leak and it may be on top. I want to lower the tank down enough to inspect for hole(s), then clean with a brass brush, and brake parts cleaner, and repair with gas tank repair epoxy. What do i need to do to accomplish this?

Basically, there are two straps that hold the tank in place. On one side, there will be a bolt holding the straps in and the other side is more like a hook that holds it in place. You need to unbolt the straps so they swing down and the tank can be lowered. Also, if you open the lid where you add gas, you will see 3 screws that hold the filler tube in place. Remove the screws so it can drop down and out.

NOTE: I strongly recommend having the fuel tank as close to empty as you can. It can be heavy if you don't. If you are working on the floor, take a 2x4 the length of the fuel tank center it across the tank and place a floor jack under it to support the weight and lower the tank.
