1990 Buick Regal 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic

hi i have a 1990 buick regal grand sport when i start my car as its idling clouds of white smoke just come from the muffler and it smells alot i dont know why its doing that is there any way to stop it?

Hi Sandy
If the white smoke is combined with a sweet burning smell. then you have cooling system problems ..such as head gasket intake gasket. this causes antifreeze to either mix with the oil which will be white milky stuff in the oil..or mix with the combustion chamber and cause clouds of white smoke.




you will need to have cooling system looked at to see which one of these probs you have. ty billymac

Check oil is it milky? check coolant is it low? if yes to both then head gaskets have failed
