I was told by my mechanic that I have a coolant leak and that a belt needs to be replaced because the coolant is leaking on the belt. Is it reasonable that the belt should need to be replaced?

Hi there,

Thank you for the donation,

If the coolant has been leaking on the belt for a while, it may affect the rubber and cause a squeal, if the leak has only been short term and minor, don't worry just now, you should not have a need to be replacing the belt just yet.
