All of a sudden yesterday 24th Dec 2008, as I pulled the car out of my driveway, I realised that steering the car was impossible. Also I noticed a red "Volts" indicator on the left of the dash board with 3 beeps that normally highlight an issue the car might have. It was particularly wet yesterday with snow melting away following rise in temperature.
Apparently it appears to be an electrical issue, but all the same there is absolutely no problem of any sort in starting the car. The battery was replaced with a new one just 2 months back.

What might be the issue? Could some one please advice me?

Thanks

You have steering problem and battery light on the dash.. Hmm.. Check your serpentine belt and make sure the tension is tight, but not too tight or too loose. The belt is the only thing that is common to both units.
