Electrical problem 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic 183550 miles
----------------------------------------------------------------
The AC/Heater blower motor runs all the time even with ignition off. Had to remove 30 amp fuse in engine compartment to shut off blower motor. Electrical diagram shows 30 amp fuse powers a blower motor relay. Found 6 relays under the fuse bank in engine compartment. With 30 amp fuse reinstalled disconnected each relay one at a time. The blower motor still keeps running. Could not find any more relays in the engine compartment. Please tell me where the AC/Heater blower motor relay is.

Thank you.

Hello,

I have seen where the fan speed control module will short out causing the fan to stay one as well. Here is a diagram that will show you where it is.

Please let us know what happens.

Cheers, Ken

The red and purple wire are shorted together, where this 2 wires meet at is at the high speed blower relay socket-try clean out the relay socket could be corrosion that's causing it-

That red and purple wire are touching, you have remove the relays and it still come on, but when your remove the fuse it stops-The fuse is powered at all time thru the red wire if it touches the purple wire the blower motor will continuesly run-this is what's happening

On the center rear of the engine compartment you will find the blower control module. It has a purple wire gray wire with a black stripe a black wire and red wire.Unolug it and see if the blower motor shuts off? Also a multi meter would be great to test some things.

My heater fan stays on high speed even when the ignition is off and key removed. I think it is the blower motor resistor/module that has failed. Can you tell me if this is true and if so how to get to the module?

My air condition fan quite. Firsts it continued to run even after the key way off. I unpluged fan pluged it back up and turned key on and it worked. When I got back in it that afternoon it would not work. I have replaced the fan motor, checked fuses, replaced module. Now I have found out it has a fan motor resistor. It is quite expensive and I have no ideal if I can replace it or where its located. Any help or pointers you can give me would be appriciated.

Thanks

Are we talking about the condenser fan or the blower motor, if its the blower motor is doesn't have a resistor, you have replaced the blower control module -check fuse no.2 10amp in the relay center and also fuse no.3 30amp in the underhood fuse box if okay your problem is coming from the HVAC programmer AC/Heater EWD

have you already checked the blower motor relay? it could also cause this to happen..try websites such as ebay.com or craigslist for used parts and call around local salvage yards as well.

Why don't you try removing the blower motor relay and see what happens could be sticking internally
