When I use the A/C the driver side is cold but the passenger side is hot. The opposite happens when I use the heater. Sometimes both sides are the way they should be. The driver side is always the correct temperature, but the passenger side is usually the opposite of what it should be. Is this a BCM problem or should I be looking for something else?

The vents are actuated by vacuum. Thus, the bcm doesn't deal with them. Check for vacuum leaks under the dash or linkage that is disconnected.

The correct vents seem to be open. The car has dual climate control and when I have the heater on I feel warm air coming out of the right and left sides and then a few minutes later I hear the A/C come on and I have cold air coming out the right vent.

Is the AC coming on with the defroster or the heat? It's normal with defrost, but not heat. Have you checked the blend door because there is only one of them and it determines if you get heat or AC. Even if the ac compressor is cycling, the blend door should continue to provide heat unless one of the HVAC vents are not working and allowing indide air or outside air to enter. If that is the case, the problem lies in the inst panel control.

They are located near the heater core and a pain to get to. You will have to remove part of the dash to access it. All you do is watch to see if it is opening and closing when you change from heat to AC.
