Engine Cooling problem
1991 Buick Park Avenue 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic

My cooling fans do not come on when engine temperature comes up. I run a jumper and they run. Where and what should I check next? Thanx

If your a/c work's turn it on does your fan come on?If your a/c doesn't work then locate your a/c high low switch turn on your a/c and unplug the high low switch jump across the two terminals the a/c should kick on and so should the fan did it?Let me know this will test the wiring relay fuse's fan motor make it a lot easier to figure out.I posted a diagram of where the switch is.

To make sure, we are talking about the fans on the radiator, correct. I jump the wire as you said on the switch and the a/c did come on, but the (radiator fan) did not. The a/c fan works.

The a/c doesn't seem to get as cold as it should unless I run a jumper from the (radiator) fan to the battery.

Lets do this i posted where your coolant temp sensor is there should be a yellow wire and a black wire going to it.I also posted a resistance chart for the sensor see if the resistance value matches with the actual coolant temp.Use a ohm's meter also while it's running jump the coolant temp sensor connector terminals together and see if the radiator fan come's on.Let me know what you find.

I went ahead and replaced the coolant temp sensor and it did not make the fan work. I did run a jumper on the connector to see if it made a difference. It did not, but I could hear a clicking sound on the firewall ( relays I assume) when I jumped the sensor connector terminals.
