Interior problem 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic 40,000 miles

This may sound funny, but I was cleaning my interior when I slipped and put my weight on the open ashtray with my hand, bending it down. It won't close now, and I wanted to know how the coils or springs work before I try to fix it?

If metal parts bent, save yourself some anguish and just get replacement parts from a salvage yard. There is very little call for this type of part, so they won't charge very much.

You will need to remove the ashtray assembly to remove the object that is jamming it. Here is how you can remove it (below)

my ash tray has a radar detector on the cig lighter and now not able to open it. how do i go about getting it open?

you'll just have to try to pry it ope carefully to get it to open.
