My leather has pulled away from the connection at the windshield. We have had extremely high temperatures and I recently had my car detailed. A mechanic told me that the fumes from the carpet cleaner could have loosened the glue. Can this be repaired and not cost a fortune??

Though I can't be sure, what I believed happened was moisture got trapped underneath the leather and the base of the windshield.

When the windshield magnifies the heat outside, it caused the moister to seperate the leather.

This can be fixed with the proper kind of glue. It will have to be cleaned and dried completely first, then use only a glue designed for leather as it will remain flexible when dried.

If you have someone else do it, it won't cost very much.
