2000 Buick Lesabre 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive 125000 miles
When deaccelerating to a stop or driving slow, the engine on my 2000 Buick Lesabre makes a knocking sound (not a ping). It also makes this sound to a lesser degree upon slight acceleration wihen the car is in neutral. The sound goes away when driving at normal city driving speed and does not exist when driving Interstate speed. The "check engine" light comes on when starting the car, and it stays on. Could this be a knock sensor problem? an EGR problem? connecting rod problem? etc?
