Engine Performance problem
1997 Buick Lesabre Two Wheel Drive Automatic 90,000 miles

my 1997 LeSabre all of a sudden started losing power going up hills to the point I would have to pull over and start up again only to have it lose power again and I would have to pull over until I made it up the hill. Sometimes on level ground the engine would feel like it would "shudder" a bit but wouldn't lose power like on the hills. I had the transmission oil and filter changed -no shavings or burned fluid they said.
I need to take it to a shop and as a widow I want some info before I go. Any ideas before I take it in?

No, there has not ever been a check engine light come on unless the light doesn't work.

Two things. First, (just for the heck of it) I would take it to a nationally recognized parts store and have them scan the computer for codes. The light may not work. Most stores don't charge for the service so there is no money out of pocket.

If no codes are found, I would try checking fuel pump pressure. Here is a how to video:

Let me know what you find.
