The Drivers side heated seat just quit working 2 days ago. The switch for the heated seat is on the drivers door trim panel. It does not seem to work properly but lites up Hi and Lo but won't turn off until you push it many times. Is there a test for the switch or can I test the seat element. What should I look for Ohms, Amps? Mileage is 38,000, Engine is 3.6 V-6

you can check the seat heaters for high resistance , the switch i would just check voltage or even a test light just to see if there is power back and forth, sounds like you know what your doing and just need a little direction , pretty common problem on all vehicles , they just short out after a few years

Thanks ChevyII, I know a little bit but sometime that can hurt you more than help (LOL). When you say check for high resistance, I'm assuming you mean in the heating element in the seat. when you say high resistance can you give me a range? Also the switch does lite up but doesn't work correctly as it has to be pushed several times to jump from Hi to Lo. When you say they just short out after a few years I again assume you mean the seat element. I know too well that switches go bad even new ones. I thought it was strange though the way this switch comes on and jumps around but won't turn off until I turn the key off. does that suggest the switch or the element in you opinion?
