Fuel filter

I am not 100% sure, but it looks like the fuel filter is inside the fuel tank. Sounds like it may be located on the sending unit/pump in the tank.

I found one thing that said that it was just below the carburetor or under the pass seat and I forgot the rest, but I cannot find that article again. It said the injected kind is in the fuel tank.

This is a 2.8 with a carburetor? I cannot remember an 1986 with this combination.

Well, if it has a carburetor. It should be a varijet. The filter is in the inlet to the carburetor.

Okay thank you. It is a 1986 Buick century custom that has a carburetor.

I found out it is in the carburetor. I am still having mysterious shutting off problems even after I brought it to the dealer to work on it. If any one could help I cannot find the flasher for the blinkers.

I know these posts were forever ago, but I have this exact same car with this exact same problem. Just wondering if you had any breakthroughs.

We need to see if you have spark when the engine stalls so we can determine if it is fuel or ignition related.
