1999 Buick Century STRONG SMELL OF GASOLINE

Smells problem
1999 Buick Century 6 cyl Automatic 49200 miles

I started smelling gas fumes about 3 weeks ago. Fuel mileage was still good. Smells mostly after car is turned off and lasts even overnight parked outside. No visiable leaks.
Past week gas mileage down almost 5 mpg.
I don't want to get ripped off at reapir shop.
Can you tell me what the potential problem is and what tyhe expected range of repair cost would be.

HELP PLEASE!

Dear Mo: When you say "no visible leaks" have you carefully inspected every inch of fuel line between the tank and the fuel rail? And the tank? Also the evaporative emissions control system. I would bet there is a leak under the car somewhere, maybe just hard to see. If so, it should be easy to fix.
