i just did a head cylinder job on my buick century because the head gasket blew.. the car runs great but when you idle for a while it starts to get hot. but if im driveing down the road it wont ever get hot. its not the fans b/c they turn on.. im thinking radiator is parcially cloged, thermostat is not working correct, or watter pump..

Those are all possiblilities. As well as the gauge or the ect sensor. You can start replacing parts as suspicion or do some testing that may require a scanner. The thermostat is more likly of the three if I were to guess. OVerheating can damage them. Water pumps aren't real commmon for poor circulation and since the heat comes down while you are driving, the radiator may be okay. Be sure that all the fins are clean from debris.
