I have a 1998 Buick Century Custom with 98,000 miles on it. It is a V8.
I heard a loud rapid tapping noise that when i looked at it didnt appear to be coming from the belt and it appears that the oil is fine, I havent noticed any leaks anyway.
The sound kept up for about 15 minutes after the car was running and then stopped. Does this sound like a rod, valve or lifter problem. Or is it just the belt itself.
Could this be a omen of a bigger problems?
