car doesn't start, when key is turned in the ignition the fuel injectors engage and hear a click that is coming from the relay on the firewall (fuel injector relay?). The car has new plugs, new wires, starter has been checked, battery is good. this problem was intermittent but the car always started after a few turns of the key, now nothing. any suggestions?

Are you saying it cranks good, but won't start or it won't even crank? If it won't even crank, check starter wiring circuit. Did you try cranking in neutral? The purple wire at the starter solenoid S terminal, should be hot with the key in the crank position.

If it cranks good but won't start, have a helper crank it, while you visually check for spark at the plugs. If you have spark everywhere use a gage and check fuel pressure. Some of the national brand autostores used to loan out a fuel pressure gage, if you don't have one.

it doesn't crank. tried starting in neutral same thing, the only sounds the car makes is the activating of the injectors and then the clicking of the fuel injector relay.

Make sure the battery has a full charge and all battery connections on both ends are clean and tight. Watch the dash lites when you try to crank, do they flutter, go out, stay bright and don't do anything? You may have to check voltage on the purple wire, I mentioned. There is no injector relay, that I'm aware of?

Lights stay on & are strong. The injector relay is on the firewall passenger side. Someone said that it could be a short in the steering column?

You need to check the wire I mentioned at the starter solenoid. There is no fuel injector relay.
