1993 Buick Century door locks

I believe you are talking about the door latch, correct? If so, you can just use a flat head screwdriver and pull the latch back down. It takes a few minutes and it is frustrating sometimes, but it willcome back down. Give it a shot and let me know how it turns out, if you still can't get it, I will try and find detailed instructions .

Thanks for the info. The "C" shaped part is made of thick rubber and seems to be locked in the upward position - which makes it impossible to shut the door. No matter how I tried I could not make it budge, with a flat head screwdriver or anything else.

Yes, I know the part you are speaking of. This is the latch. The "C" shaped part can and will move back downward with the force of a prying tool. You have to use a lot of force, don't be afraid of breaking it because, trust me, the tool will break before the latch will ;) You will have to pry it down with a screwdriver or other prying tool. Also have an assistant pull on the door handle while you are prying the latch downward. If you still can not get the latch down, the only other option is to disassemble the door panel and door latch assembly. ..

It WORKED! Thank you, thank you, thank you. My son will be SO surprised when he gets up to go to school tomorrow morning and finds that he can shut and lock the doors on his car again! Lifting up on the handle as I pried the part down with a flat head screw driver was the trick! It was impossible to move the part otherwise - but when I pulled up on the door handle it practically moved on its own! I VERY MUCH appreciate your help!
