Engine Cooling problem
1992 Buick Century 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic

My engine is overheating and I'm not sure what the problem is. I tried adding coolant to the reserve coolant tank, but that did not work. The coolant gets hot and starts to boil out of the reserve tank causing the engine to smoke. I'm wondering what might possibly be wrong and how I would go about fixing it.

possible causes include: weak radiator cap, sticking thermostat, faulty water pump, clogged radiator, radiator fan not coming on for a variety or possible reasons.
