I have noticed that oil has leaked over into the carburetor, when I press the brakes the car chokes out, as long as I press the gas its ok but sort of rough

check vacuumn lines ..sounds like when you push on brakes engine vacuumn is going away through the brake booster. Vacummn operates the pcv valve which would account for oil leak. Just an idea tht might be worth looking at...
