When trying to remove the PCV valve, the top snapped off. The rest of the PCV is still seated in place with nothing to grasp on to in order to remove it. How can it be removed?

Hi,

How much of the valve is still inside? I attached a pic below and circled what I expect to still be there. Let me know if that is correct.

If it is, are you able to reach down inside with a small set of needle nose pliers?

Let me know.

Joe

See pic below. Also, if you could take a pic of it and upload it for me to see, I may have a better idea.

Hi,

No problem whatsoever. That is a tough one to remove. LOL If I had this, and don't laugh, I would try to screw something like a lag bolt into the center. It will grab when it goes in, and you should be able to remove the PCV with the bolt.

I know that sounds primitive, but it should work. Just get the bolt started into it very gently and with very little downward pressure until it grabs.

I attached a pic below showing the type of bolt I'm referring to.

Let me know if that helps or if you have other questions.

Take care,

Joe

Thanks so much for the suggestion. If I don't already have a lag bolt hanging out somewhere in the shop, I'll go get one just to give this a shot. I'll post when we're done to let you know if that worked.

Thanks,
Rochelle

Well, I appreciate your suggestion. It didn't work for me, but my neighbor had a number 5 EZ Out and that did the trick. I can't get the rest of PCV off of the EZ out so he's getting a souvenir when I return it to him.
Thanks for your time and help!
