Have to press hard on brake pedal for brake light to turn on?

It sounds like the brake pedal position sensor is going out or needs to be recalibrated. I have included how to change the sensor out which is under the dash near the brake pedal itself in case the recalibration does not work. Check out the images (below). Please upload pictures or videos of the problem so we can see what's going on.
