Brakes locking up

It could be as simple as a "unknown" twist in the rubber brake hose to it. I've had buddies helping me and added that sweet little twist in there after letting the caliper dangle around!

Or the hose itself has internal oldness or breakdown, I've seen this many many times! The hose starts acting like a check valve letting fluid force on through, when you release the pedal the fluid cannot back back out.

If the brake remains locked up, you can verify it is a faulty hose by simply opening up the bleeder valve on that brake. If the brake releases immediately, it is the hose!

Which wheel, and what is it doing? Does the one brake apply on its own while you're driving? You can tell that by how hot that wheel feels after a few miles. Do you mean one wheel locks up too easily under light braking, and that tire skids?

A sticking parking brake cable can cause a rear drum brake to apply too easily and lock up with just light brake pedal pressure. Look just in front of the rear wheels where the cable comes out of its casing at the front end of that casing. If the first half inch of that cable is shiny and clean. it isn't fully-retracted. Flexing the casing a few times might help the cable to retract. The proper repair is to replace a sticking cable.
