When I pull away to drive my car, the ABS light, and the slippery when wet light with "off" below it light up. I checked in the manual to see what they meant, but there is no scenario where they both light up at the same time. Not sure what to do.

With all warning lights related to safety systems, the place to start is by having the diagnostic fault codes read and recorded. The people at most auto parts stores will read codes in the Engine Computer for you for free, but they cannot read the codes in the many other computers. For that, you need to visit a mechanic with a scanner that can access those computers. Understand those codes never say to replace a part or that one is bad. They only indicate the circuit or system that needs further diagnosis, or the unacceptable operating condition.

When the Anti-lock Brake Computer detects a problem, it sets the diagnostic fault code, turns the system off, then turns on the warning light to tell you. Traction control systems and anti-skid systems do their thing by using the ABS system to rapidly pulse one or more brakes momentarily. They cannot do that if the ABS system has shut down. That is why the second warning light is on. Fix the ABS problem, erase the fault code, and both warning lights will turn off.

Thank you very much for your help. Is it still safe to drive my car until I can get to a mechanic?

The anti-lock brake system is an optional safety system added to the base brake system. When the computer turns the ABS system off, you're left with the standard brake system every car has had since the late 1960s.
