I went to AutoZone and their code reader says I have CO223 and CO223. Right front wheel speed signal erratic and left front wheel speed signal erratic. At times I would get the ABS light in the dash. I ran new brake fluid through both back wheels which cleared it and still want to do both front wheels. I'm not sure if this helped but it did get rid of the ABS light.
I have a Hayes Repair Manual and there is now code in the code section for that.

Hi,

I suspect it is the sensor that is failing. As far as the brake fluid is concerned, it has nothing to do with the speed sensor.

If you have a live data scan tool, you could watch the signal from each wheel to see if one is off. That would help narrow things down.

As far as the code is concerned, I attached information and diagnostics below for you. Take a look and let me know if it helps.

Take care,

joe

What do the wheel speed sensors do and is it necessary to fix it. If you don't what happens during driving? Thanks. Bob

Hi,

The sensors are used by the vehicle to identify skidding, traction loss, and on other vehicles stability control. If the sensor is faulty, the vehicle will continue driving the same. However, you will not have anti-lock brakes or traction control. Basically, everything continues to work normally as far as braking except the ABS function.
