"Brake servo restricted: you can continue driving please contact workshop" message is on the screen for around 3 weeks now. I understand it's a problem with the sensor. It is a costly fix? The brakes feel sticky and not working to their full potential.

Hi,

What you are describing sounds like a faulty pressure sensor. The sensor seems to be becoming a common issue.

The sensor is located at the vacuum brake booster.

You would need to test it, but that is what I believe the issue is. I attached directions below for replacement.

If you haven't already, have the computer scanned to see if there are diagnostic trouble codes that would indicate this is the issue.

Let me know if this helps or if you have other questions.

Take care,

Joe

Yeah. I have heard of this as well. It could be the sensor as that is the most common failure, but we need to check the brake booster operation and make sure it is holding correct pressure. The fact that you are having a brake sensation issue makes me think we have an actual issue.

Please take a look at the inf below and let me know if you have questions.

I am not sure if you can rent this tool, or if it is a dealer only tool. I know you can search that tool number and buy the tool, but they are about $300.00 so that doesn't make much sense to buy one.

Basically, it would be cheaper to pay someone to inspect it for you and find out if the booster is failed or it is just a sensor.

If it is just a sensor, then that repair is about a couple hundred dollars give or take. The booster is going to be more expensive as just the part is almost $300.00.
