Driving home from work the other day, i had to slam on my brakes to avoid a collision. Doing so the brake pedal went to the floor, but my brakes still slowed the car. Not as well as before i slammed them on. I checked for leaks and see none. I even bled them a few times and the problem still persists. I am on a budget and do not know what else to do. Can someone help me figure this out?

Does the pedal still go to the floor? If so, suspect the master cylinder. Also, recheck to make sure there are no leaks and the fluid is not low or going low.
