Hello, I'm Danny.

Having the check engine light and StabilTrac light on means there is a trouble code stored in the vehicles computer. If you don't have access to a scanner/code reader most local auto parts stores will check for free or have a tool loaner program and will rent you one. Here is a tutorial showing what is involved:

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/checking-a-service-engine-soon-or-check-engine-light-on-or-flashing

After this is performed get back to us with the code number(s) and we can then properly diagnose the problem with your vehicle.Hope this helps and thanks for using 2CarPros.

There's no check engine light. It's just the traction control light and it says service stabilitrac traction control disabled. I tried to pull a code and there's not one that pops up. The brake switch I replaced. Does that switch need to be programmed at all?

Hello again.

Since the brake lights are staying on it will definitely register a fault in the stabilitrac system.Brake light switches are not programmable. You will have to use a GM Tech 2 or equivalent scan tool to retrieve data/faults. I've attached below the brake system wiring diagrams if you want to inspect wiring for shorts/looseness/corrosion.I split the page in 2 pictures to appear larger.Hope this helps and thanks again for using 2CarPros.

Hi,

If I can jump in. The brake switch does not require to be reprogrammed but when you pulled codes did you use a scan tool that can communicate with the ABS module? If not, then there will be no codes. As Danny stated, with this light there should be a code that goes along with it so let's just make sure that tool can talk to your ABS and go from there. Thanks
