I’m having problems with my brake lights in car. I changed bulbs sensor and fuse all my lights work but my brakes don’t. I have two wires disconnected in my trunk wondering if it goes to my brake lights or sensor.

Hi,

What color and where are the wires located? Can you upload a pic of them? Also, take a test light or volt meter and see if there is power to the wires you mentioned when the brake pedal is pushed.

I attached two pics below. The first shows the wires going to the brake light assemblies. The second shows power in to a joint connector (one wire in) and three out. Note that two of the wires shown to the center brake light indicate optional equipment or standard equipment.

Are the wires that are disconnected blue in color?

Let me know.

Hi,

Okay, then we need to start at the beginning. In the fuse panel inside the vehicle, check fuse 10. I attached a pic I need you to look at as well. If the fuse is good, I need you to get under the dash and check if there is constant power to the green wire at the brake light switch. If there is, then actuate the switch (press the brake) and see if power then travels to the red wire. If there is only when the brake is pressed, let me know so we can move on from that point. There is a brake light relay in the relay box under the hood. We will check that next.

If there is power at the fuse but not at the green wire at the switch, then I suspect the joint connection is not making connection.

Hopefully it is just a fuse issue, but if it isn't try what I suggested above and let me know the results. All you will really need is a test light, but I added the above links because I don't know what you have for testing.

Let me know what you find.
