I had my husband change my brake pads, both front and rear. A o ringing broke in the back and fluid leaked out. After that brakes were going to floor. I sought help and heard from many different people many different opinions. One guy said because it's a newer car I would need to hook up to a scanner but everyone else said that wasn't necessary and were dismissive about it. 3 different people did a bleed, and they still were going to floor. The fourth guy came out, they wouldn't bleed so he changed both rear calipers. The brakes are actually working but they are not 100%. Still not as resistant when braking. What is going on? A 5th guy has offered to bleed my ABS module for another $180.00 and assures me I do not need a scanner. I am tapped out!! have literally spent $600.00 trying to fix my brakes and all I wanted were new pads. Any ideas? Advice?

Hi,

The rear brakes on this vehicle aren't the easiest to bleed because of the design. The fluid passage is complex and if you have a spongy pedal, there is still air in the caliper.

I attached the directions below for bleeding when a caliper is replaced. It doesn't require a scan tool.

Let me know if this helps or if you have other questions.

Take care,

Joe
