So, I've had some work done on my car recently. I've had a mot done, and it's come up on the advisory that the brake clip isn't fitted correctly. The mechanic who done the MOT said it was just a clip that's not been put in correctly. Is there any way I can do this myself? I just can't keep spending money on this car and I'm at the point of giving up with it entirely. Can't find any videos on this.

Yep, those clips can be tough. but you should be able to go the auto parts store and get a new clip and install it. Use a standard screwdriver and a small hammer. The clip slides into a slot, make sure the hose is all the way in the bracket before you begin. Check out the images (below). Please upload pictures or videos in your response of any problems so we can see what to help you with.

JUSTINB91. My name is Ernest, and I'd be more than happy to assist you.

First, you should immediately take the car back to whomever you had do the work and tell them they didn't do the work correctly. If they are an honest person/shop, they should fix their mistake with no problem. If this turns out not to be the case, then see if they can at least provide you with more details.

I can only assume it's a retaining clip holding a brake hose in place. But you didn't mention if it's front/back or left/right side. I'll also need to know if the clip is there but the hose is not in place, or if the clip is missing altogether.

If your mechanic doesn't help, get back to me with the details i need and i'll be glad to assist you further.
