It is easy to adjust the rear brake shoes once the job is completed, start the car and leave it in park, then press the brake pedal down while working the parking brake, keep pumping the brake while applying and releasing the parking brake. This will adjust the shoes correctly. Let us know how it goes.

Oh, so you don’t have to adjust the shoes by hand for a slight drag.

You can, but you don't have to, the parking brake trick works pretty good. Continue until good brake pedal is present.

The self-adjuster is designed to keep the shoes at the perfect position to keep the brake pedal where it is supposed to be.

"pump the brake while applying and releasing the parking brake".

This will take about 20 tries, and it should be good to go if the rear shoes and self-adjuster is installed correctly.
