Brake caliper retention spring broke?

When I was removing the caliper retention spring the spring broke flush with the caliper any advice on how to remove it. Rear driver side.

I wish it was the mounting slide bolts. But it's a spring on the outer side of the caliper that holds the outer end of the caliper from vibrating. Don't mind my tool breaking in the first picture.

You should be able to grab it with a pair of needle noise pliers, but I think you may have bigger problems, that kind of caliper cannot be retracted like a normal caliper, it needs to be reset with a special tool. This is why your tool failed, please go over this video what shows how to reset the rear brake caliper:

I figured that out. And made sure the piston didn't get damaged. The spring just snapped more I've now tried a punch through the inner side because the hole goes all of the way through. Is it safe to drill out? Ford and Wisconsin don't mix lol.

lol, it might be difficult to drill due to the spring steel. I would try a small punch to force to out, also soak it in wd40.
