Brake caliper replacement

Does this need replaced?(caliper). And how do you install retractors. No one knows online and or are not specific.

Hi,

That looks like a rear caliper. As far as replacement, if the wet areas are brake fluid that is leaking past the caliper piston, yes it needs to be replaced. Please understand, it is hard to tell looking at a pic what is actually happening, so please feel free to explain.

Let me know if this helps. Also, let me know what you mean by retractors. If you are asking how to retract the caliper piston, there are tools made to do it, or you can place one of the old brake pads against the piston and then use a large C-clamp to retract it. Slowly tighten the C-clamp until the caliper is fully retracted. See pic 5 below.

Here is what i had mentioned. (Retractor). Goes on the front calipers or at least on top of the caliper.
