Hello,

I am looking for information on how to install a new front bumper on a 2002 6 cylinder Z3. Would you be able to provide that information or other resources I could check out? Thanks very much.

Replacement of the front bumper is best done with the car elevated and the front tires removed(tire removal is not required but it makes it easier) Remove the lower access panels and exposed fasteners. Remove the Torx bolts holding the bumper shocks to the bumper. The bumper is best removed as an entire unit. There is wiring to contend with so be prepared. Repost if needed.

Thanks very much for the quick response. A few more questions. Would you happen to know the size of the tork screws (a bit of esoteric ?) and when you say there is wiring involved, what do you mean? Thanks very much and I shall certainly make a donaton to support your cats!

The Torx bit is a T-50. The wiring will be connectors that will obviously will need to be reconnected. Do not be alarmed, they are only going to go back the way they came off, just wanted you to be aware. This is not a complicated operation, just be prepared and leave yourself extra time to complete the task. The Torx bolts go in from the bottom by the way.

Well I have the bumper cover but things are not looking good. Where would I find the lower access panels and how are they fastened? I can't see the Torx bolts, etc. I am not 'project impaired, but I can't seem to get started with this. I am trying to do this as a surprise for someone and want to put in some sweat equity rather than just having it installed. Any further guidance, diagrams, etc. would be very much appreciated.

I am trying to replace the bumper cover, not the bumper. Does it still make sense to take the bumper off in order to accomplish this, or can just the bumper cover be replaced. It is almost impossible to see anything under that and my car ramps are too steep to allow clearance for me to run the car up on them.
