Check engine light on

I would replace the boot and reset adaptations
then drive and complete monitors
part number for the boot is
13-54-1-440-102

went in to bmw parts dept. and go that intake boot and installed it myself took about an 1 hr to complete drove it for 30 min and came on again think i should look into the intake and exhaust cam sensors?

what is the fault for this time?

the code it read was the same p2096 post cat bank 1 to lean

this may need a reflash of the DME
there is a bulletin for this fault
there may be other issues involved
I will get back to you at end of business tomorrow
so I can check the bulletins

Hi there well i replaced the exhaust cam sensor and the code is still tripping...In my x5 i do not have navigation is it possible to still do a reflash:?

the current miles on the X are 84,000 ..oh and i forgot i havent yet replaced the 02 sensor after the cat the first one that is i only changed the second one, could that be the problem:?

I'm encountering the same problem. Our SES code indicated 2 codes according to the ODBII scanner (P1419 & P1093 from Advanced Auto Parts). After taking it to the dealer, they indicated that it had two faults but didnt indicate the exact codes, the service order showed the following:

(1.) O2 Sensor Fault - Suggested replacing the Intake Boot since it was torn.
[Elbow Tube 13-54-1-440-102]

(2.) Mass Air No Signal - Suggested replacing the following:
[Secondary Air Filter, Non Return Air Valve, & Air Mass Meter]
(11-72-7-534-722, 11-72-7-553-067, & 11-72-1-438-814)

My question is, what are the chances that the SES light will still be on despite replacing these items. After paying $200 for BMW to diagnose the SES light, I wasnt informed about whether or not the MAF Sensor needs to be replaced [Hot Film Air Mass Meter 13-62-7-567-451. The Hot Film Sensor sits between the main Air Filter and the intake Elbow Tube.
The advisor indicated that the Hot Film Sensor would not cause the O2 Sensor to Fault. Do you think that $200 is too much for a diagnosis that left room for plenty of things that could be causing the SES light to come on?
