I took my car to my local BMW dealer for a lube, oil & filter and was told (and shown) myleft fron axle boot had split. There was grease all over the area and wheel rim. Why would this happen. It cost me $800.0 to fix it. Also they had to replace my rear lower spring pads due to shifting . This was warranty as it was just done 20 months ago. 15,000 miles ago. Is this what I have to look forward to in the future???

The car is going to be somewhat high maintanence. The axle boot is possibly an age issue and they usually dont have a high failure rate after replacement. The spring perches are another matter. I have had springs crack and cause an issue with the perches but the perches themselves are not what I would consider a high failure rate item. Was there a complaint regarding the perches? Or did they replace them for their own reasons?
