Cranks but will not start

It is difficult to advise you here as I do not know the history of the car. At any rate, it will at least require spark, fuel, etc. Probably a coil, have you tried that?

I have checked and i have spark and fuel and still no start. i have had it at BMW Of Dallas and thay don't know what it is. could it be the computer.. the computer has been reprogramed.

Im having the same problem with mine did you discover what was causing yours...

A crank, no start condition in that model can be caused by several things, bad fuel or no fuel pressure, no spark, disconnected air mass sensor, failed cam or crankshaft sensors, poor compression. I have seen bad instrument clusters cause a no start condition. Lets roll up our sleeves and fix it mate!

In that case would you recomment I go to a main dealer to get a computer dianostic done.

That would be one way. As a technician who has been at the dealer level long enough to make it to master level, I resist recommending that route as it usually is much more expensive and the quality of work tends to suffer. I recommend seeking an independent BMW mechanic that has a reputation for delivering rather than risking the clumsiness of some rookie at the dealer.

Can I ask if you hear the fuel pump run in the tank when the key is turned on without cranking the engine over? Do you have a check engine light? if so any codes? These two guides should help.
