my BMW 540i will not shift into any gear but second. when the car starts and is put in drive, the car will not budge, but when i push the throttle to 3,000RPM, it shifts from park, but to first. it seems to be stuck in a single gear, i believe it to be second, no matter what its set to (D,2,3,4) but it will go into park and reverse alright. the check engine light is on. All of the fluids are good, and runs fine besides the transmission problem.
