Transmission problem

Hi, This is kamil I have an 1996 model 8.40 ci which suffering me.I just had to pay alot money for the rear gear problem and now another problem came up.When I drive the car suddenly the gear is dissappearing on the display screen and transmission is not changing.on the computer screen, trans fault-safe mode is appearing, by the way if I stop the engine and start it again its working normal.please tell me its not a big deal and could be solve easily Thank You very much.
