Well, the description seems to me to be normal operation. Is there something I am missing or that you are not telling me?

Thanks for the feedback. The DSC is supposed to do that. Keep in mind that there is no way I can know how long you have experienced this or if it is something that is just happened or if it is new to you. Can you feed back to me the data I need to help make a diagnosis?

the car started recently doing this. for instance, i can be driving 55 mph and it will all the sudden grab, the car almost feels as if i am slamming the brakes, then it will release, all the while the tcs light is flashing i am wandering if it is electronic or mechanical.
Thanks

Very helpful, thanks. I have seen this on one other occasion at the dealer on an M3 that was still under warranty. It was doing the same thing, and we had a hard time duplicating it. It finally got done by replacing the hydro-control unit, #1 in this link: http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts.do?model=BL93&mospid=47714&btnr=34_1271&hg=34&fg=20
No stored faults and difficult to pinpoint indeed.
