Hi, My bro has a M3 and he had it sat for a week or two. The battery went flat so he tried to jump start it. He said it started and then he stalled it. Now it won't even turn over.

We have now charged the battery fully and I have tried to locate the fuses etc but found nothing wrong. The only fuse I can't find it the immobiliser one under the glove box. It says one is there in the fuse box cover but I can't find it! I have checked down the main battery cable for a main fuse but cannot find one. I guess it could be the key has lost its code with the car but seams unlikely as it started on the jump. As it won't even turn over and all the lights come on I guess it is some sort of immobiliser issue. Can anyone help with this or just give me a clue where to find this other fuse!? Thanks Dave

First, the diagnostic you made could be right, jump starting BMW cars is NEVER a good idea, so in the future, do not ever jump start a BMW again, please. So on to the second part which is a no crank, no start condition which could be a failure of the EWS/DME alignment, possibly caused by the jump start. I would scan the car with a GT-1 and realign the EWS/DME and see if it starts, of course scanning the car would reveal the fault if present. Seek out a shop with a GT-1.
